Jobgether is assisting a partner company in recruiting a Business Analyst/Consultant IV for a fully remote, United States–based one-year contract. You will bridge business stakeholders and technical teams to design data integration and translate requirements into technical specifications.

You will contribute to reporting, data warehousing, data quality initiatives, and governance, while developing SQL queries and supporting dashboards in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst.
• 5+ years writing complex SQL queries.
• 5+ years mapping documentation and data integration.
• 5+ years gathering requirements and translating to tech specs.
• 2+ years planning tests, data reconciliation, and UAT.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work across multiple projects in Agile.
• Experience with data governance and dashboards (preferred).

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Analyst/Consultant IV based in the United States. Join a collaborative data management team supporting a public-sector organization in its mission to become more data-driven and data-literate. As a Business Analyst/Consultant IV, you will bridge business stakeholders and technical teams to design effective data integration processes and translate complex requirements into actionable technical solutions. You will contribute to reporting, data warehousing, and data quality initiatives while using SQL and advanced analytical techniques to uncover insights and resolve system issues. Working within an agile environment, you will help ensure data accuracy, system reliability, and alignment with business needs. This fully remote, one-year contract is open to candidates nationwide and offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful data initiatives in government services.

Accountabilities

• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to design and implement efficient data integration processes.
• Create and maintain source-to-target (S2T) mapping documentation to support data warehouse and reporting requirements.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries to support data analysis, reporting, and troubleshooting.
• Gather business requirements, develop user stories, and translate business needs into detailed technical specifications.
• Perform root cause analysis and analyze complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, discrepancies, and actionable insights.
• Plan and execute testing procedures to validate system functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Conduct data reconciliation, evaluate testing results, and coordinate user acceptance testing with stakeholders to resolve defects.
• Perform gap analysis and cost-benefit assessments to support informed decision-making.
• Support dashboard requirements gathering, data quality initiatives, and data governance practices, including security and privacy considerations.
• Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system requirements, design specifications, and user manuals.
• Coordinate training sessions and workshops to help end users understand systems, tools, and best practices.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects and tasks while contributing to an agile, collaborative team environment.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience working as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst.
• At least 5 years of experience developing complex SQL queries.
• At least 5 years of experience creating and maintaining source-to-target mapping documentation and supporting data integration processes.
• At least 5 years of experience gathering requirements, developing user stories, and translating business requirements into technical specifications.
• At least 5 years of experience conducting root cause analysis and analyzing complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
• At least 2 years of experience planning and executing testing procedures, performing data reconciliation, analyzing results, and conducting user acceptance testing.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate effectively, manage competing priorities, and work across multiple projects.

Preferred Qualifications And Experience Include

• Experience performing gap analysis and cost-benefit analysis.
• Familiarity with data quality tools and frameworks, business intelligence platforms, and data governance practices.
• Understanding of data security and privacy policies.
• Experience gathering and refining requirements for dashboards.
• Strong knowledge of different data modeling approaches.
• Experience creating technical documentation and delivering user training.
• Ability to mentor colleagues and users in business and systems analysis methodologies.
• Strong interpersonal, collaboration, mentoring, and team-building skills.Experience with relevant tools and technologies, including Jira, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Alteryx, SSIS, SSRS, SSMS, Squirrel, SQL Server, Tableau, Semarchy, Git, and GitHub.
