Job summary

Ampcus Inc. in Austin, TX seeks a Senior Business Analyst 3 to drive advanced business analysis across multiple software initiatives, translating business needs into actionable requirements for major enhancements and system rewrites.

You will bridge business stakeholders and software teams, oversee requirements through the SDLC, document specs, and create visual artifacts like process flows, UML diagrams, and UX-aligned wireframes. Experience with Jira is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience eliciting requirements via customer interviews and creating well-written system requirements.
• Minimum 8 years of experience with software development life cycles (SDLCs).
• Minimum 8 years of experience in business process re-engineering and software process flow improvement.
• Minimum 8 years of experience developing user stories and use cases in accordance with business analysis best practices.
• Minimum 8 years of experience designing mockups and/or wireframes that conform to UX best practices.
• Minimum 8 years of demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills.
• Minimum 4 years of documented work experience with Atlassian Jira issue-tracking software.

Responsibilities

• Elicit requirements through joint application development (JAD) sessions, requirements workshops, interviews, document analysis, storyboards, surveys, site visits, use cases, scenarios, competitive product analysis, and task and workflow analysis.
• Identify user needs, business processes, pain points, and system capabilities using advanced analysis techniques.
• Analyze opportunities to automate or improve existing systems and business processes.
• Translate information gathered during elicitation sessions into business requirements, functional requirements, use cases, user stories, and software requirements specifications.
• Use standard templates and ensure documentation is clear, concise, unambiguous, and consistent with business analysis best practices.
• Create process flows, context diagrams, UML diagrams, wireframes, and mockups to visually represent business requirements and workflows.
• Ensure mockups and wireframes align with user experience (UX) best practices.
• Participate actively throughout the SDLC.
• Manage deadlines and follow change control procedures.
• Track requirements status and maintain requirements traceability.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Verify that requirements are fulfilled and manage requirements associated with post-implementation enhancements.

Job Summary

The Business Analyst will perform advanced, senior-level business analysis across multiple projects, focusing on major software enhancements and system rewrite initiatives. The role serves as a liaison between business stakeholders and software development teams, ensuring that business needs are translated into clear, actionable requirements.

The Business Analyst will participate throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC), manage requirements specifications, track requirements fulfillment, and verify that all requirements are met, including those associated with post-implementation enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Elicitation

• Elicit requirements through joint application development (JAD) sessions, requirements workshops, interviews, document analysis, storyboards, surveys, site visits, use cases, scenarios, competitive product analysis, and task and workflow analysis.

Business and System Analysis

• Identify user needs, business processes, pain points, and system capabilities using advanced analysis techniques.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience supporting complaint and case management workflows, including intake, investigation, and resolution.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with educator certification processes, federal or state grant programs, or state funding programs.
