Job summary

Transcend Business Solutions in Tallahassee, FL is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to bridge business owners, contract management, and the development team on a government modernization program. You will translate meeting outputs into functional specifications and create process flow models while documenting technical details.

The role requires coordinating JAD sessions, gathering requirements, and supporting QA through UAT coordination and test automation exposure.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 7 years IT business/industry experience.
• Minimum 7 years in IT project business analysis.
• Minimum 7 years with Agile software development methodologies.
• Minimum 7 years of requirements gathering experience.
• Minimum 7 years with Azure DevOps and/or TFS.

• Minimum 7 years translating business requirements into use cases and acceptance criteria.

Responsibilities

POSITION TITLE: Business Analyst
LOCATION: Tallahassee, Florida ONSITE- need ability to travel within Florida (will be paid)

Government client is seeking a Business Analyst to serve as a liaison between the business owners, contract manager, and the development team, coordinating and facilitating Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions, translating information from meetings and written materials into mock-ups, process models, and/or process flow models; meeting with stakeholders to discuss business processes, translating high level business requirements into functional specifications, and assisting with creating process flow models and documentation. The Business Analyst will complete a series of tasks needed for the client's modernization project and the maintenance of client's applications.

Selected candidate will be required to complete Department’s security awareness training and obtain CJIS certification. This training must be completed within fifteen (15) calendar days of start date.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of a of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or another related field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 7 years of experience of IT business/industry work experience.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in performing business analysis on IT projects.
• Minimum 7 years of experience with Agile Software Development methodologies.
• Minimum 7 years of experience with Requirements Gathering.
• Minimum 7 years of experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps and/or Team Foundation Server (TFS).
• Minimum 7 years of experience conducting Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions with client stakeholders and subject matter experts.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in designing, maintaining, and scaling custom automated testing frameworks from scratch (e.g., using Page Object Model).
• Minimum 7 years of experience in automation testing; designing, writing, and executing automation test scripts using a variety of tools (Selenium or similar) to verify system functionality and find software bugs.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in generating automation scripts and updating existing to align with ongoing UI shifts and new feature deployments.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in REST API and Microservices testing; executing endpoint validation, contract checks, and payload verification using Insomnia or similar API tools.
• Proficiency in testing and validating REST APIs using tools like Postman, Insomnia, or other API testing tools.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in translating functional specification into technical specification from which programmers can construct the solution.
• Minimum 7 years of experience translating business requirements into use cases/user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in translating the information from meetings and written materials into mock-ups, process models, and/or process flow models.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in creating technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in collaborating with QA teams, coordinating UAT schedules, conducting UAT sessions, and guiding business testers through the workflows.
• Minimum 7 years of experience with process model diagram tools, such as but not limited to Microsoft Visio.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in manual testing; validate system functionality by authoring test scenarios and executing manual checks against business requirements.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in automation testing; designing, writing, and executing automation test scripts to verify system functionality and finding software bugs.
