Job summary

Genesis Consulting Partners, LLC is seeking a Business Analyst in Tallahassee, FL to act as the liaison between agency business units, technical teams, and vendors. You will ensure project deliverables meet business needs, align with State of Florida IT standards, and are implemented successfully.

The role emphasizes requirements elicitation, process modeling, and deliverables management, with light testing support and collaboration with QA/UAT teams. Onsite work in Tallahassee is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst on projects.
• Experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and technical requirements.
• Strong business process analysis, modeling, and documentation management.
• Experience with deliverable management and traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
• Knowledge of SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid).
• Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps).
• Excellent written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with State of Florida systems such as FLMMIS or FASAMS
• WCAG/508 accessibility standards knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Conduct requirements gathering sessions with agency stakeholders, SMEs, and technical teams.
• Document functional, non-functional, and technical requirements in alignment with Florida IT standards.
• Develop process flow diagrams, use cases, and business process models to capture current and future workflows.
• Manage deliverables including requirements documents, traceability matrices, design specs, and end-user docs.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to track deliverables against milestones and ensure stakeholder alignment.
• Serve as the documentation lead, maintaining a central repository of approved artifacts.
• Support the creation of UAT plans and acceptance criteria with QA/UAT teams.
• Assist in training material development, communications plans, and change management activities.
• Ensure deliverables comply with Florida accessibility, security, and data governance requirements.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidatewill have a strong background in requirements elicitation, business processmodeling, and Stakeholder Communication, as well as experience working withinthe State of Florida or other large government environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct requirements-gathering sessions with agency stakeholders,business subject matter experts (SMEs), and technical teams.
• Document functional, non-functional, and technical requirements inalignment with State of Florida IT standards.
• Develop process flow diagrams, use cases, and business process modelsto capture current-state and future-state workflows.
• Manage project deliverables including requirements documents,traceability matrices, design specifications, and end-user documentation,ensuring accuracy and timely completion.

MinimumQualifications/Experience:

• Experience with deliverable management and traceability practicesthroughout the project lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, orhybrid).
• Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, orsimilar).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability towork with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with State of Florida systems such as FLMMIS or FASAMS
• Knowledge of Section 508 / WCAG accessibility standards.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in InformationTechnology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.

Required Certifications:

CBAP (Certified Business AnalysisProfessional) or CCBA certification.

Other:

• Candidates must be able to work onsite in Tallahassee, FL as needed.
