Job summary

INSPYR Solutions in Vienna, VA seeks a Business Analyst - Power BI to design, develop, and maintain executive dashboards and risk reporting. You will partner with IT Risk leaders and stakeholders to translate requirements into effective data visualizations and insights.

The role requires 3–5+ years of BA/data analytics experience, strong Power BI skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams in a hybrid, 3x-per-week onsite model.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of business analysis or data analytics experience.
• 3+ years Power BI dashboard and report development.
• Experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
• Strong knowledge of Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, SQL, and data modeling.
• Experience with large datasets and multiple source systems.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Business Analyst - Power BI

Location: Vienna, VA Hybrid 3x week

Duration: Initial 6 Month Contract With Extensions

Compensation: $47-58/HR W2

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner with IT Risk leaders, risk owners, control owners, and business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements.
• Facilitate requirements workshops to define KRIs, management metrics, and dashboard functionality.
• Document business requirements, data definitions, and reporting standards.
• Translate business needs into technical reporting and visualization requirements.

Power BI Dashboard Development

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Develop executive, operational, and regulatory reporting views.
• Create data models, DAX calculations, KPIs, scorecards, and trend analyses.
• Optimize report performance, usability, and accessibility.
• Build drill-through and self-service reporting capabilities.

Risk Data Analytics

• Analyze risk data from ServiceNow, SharePoint, SQL Server, GRC platforms, and audit/issue management systems.
• Develop reporting for Risk Appetite Metrics, KRIs, Control Effectiveness, Issue & Action Plan Tracking, Audit Findings, Operational Risk Trends, and Cybersecurity/Technology Risk Metrics.

Data Governance & Quality

• Validate data quality and integrity across reporting sources.
• Develop data dictionaries and metric definitions.
• Partner with data teams to resolve data discrepancies.
• Ensure consistency and traceability of risk reporting.

Executive Reporting

• Create dashboards and reporting for senior leadership and risk committees.
• Provide analytical insights, trend analysis, and recommendations.
• Support board, executive, and enterprise risk reporting.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Finance, Risk Management, Analytics, or related field.
• 3-5+ years of business analysis, data analytics, or reporting experience.
• 3+ years of Power BI dashboard and report development experience.
• Experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
• Strong knowledge of Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query, SQL, and data modeling.
• Experience working with large datasets and multiple source systems.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in IT Risk, Operational Risk, Cybersecurity, Audit, Compliance, or Governance.
• Knowledge of risk management frameworks and KRIs.
• Experience with ServiceNow reporting and GRC platforms.
• Familiarity with Azure, SQL Server, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365 data sources.
• Experience creating executive dashboards and scorecards.
• Power BI or Microsoft Data Analyst certification.
