Job summary

Shipcom is seeking a Business Analyst to drive product strategy and roadmap for a SaaS IoT platform. You will gather requirements directly from end users, create wireframe mock-ups, and coordinate development, testing, and launch activities with cross-functional teams.

You’ll lead agile development efforts, collaborate with executives, customers, and project managers, and help shape the product to create customer value and competitive advantage.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer engineering or related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in business systems analysis or product management.
  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum; Scrum Master certification is a plus (1 year preferred).
  • Proficiency with process engineering methodologies and change management.
  • Extensive experience managing and growing enterprise products.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.

About The Role

Job Type: Full Time

Job Location: Houston, Shipcom HQ

Shipcom is looking for a Business Analyst with an entrepreneurial mindset, who can drive product strategy, influence and inspire executives, and work with several other teams including project managers, customers, and sales in delivering a finished product.

As a Business Analyst, you will help build the product roadmap, and vision for our SaaS based IoT software platform. You will conduct market research to design products that customers want and will compare our products to competitor’s products in order to assess competition in the market. You will gather requirements by working directly with end users and stakeholders, create wire-frame mock-ups, and coordinate the project details as directed through documentation, development, testing, and implementation.

Shipcom is looking for a Business Analyst who has demonstrated a track record of success in business analysis and project management, experience in leading agile development teams while possessing a passion for creating value for customers.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
  • Collaborate with key customers, industry stakeholders, and executives to define the vision, build and execute the product strategy, and create the future of IoT products
  • Research and monitor existing customers, industry trends and developments to identify potential new product opportunities
  • Prioritize potential initiatives by demonstrating their alignment with our business strategy and the value to our current or future users
  • Design innovative product solutions to customer goals, with a focus on ease-of-use, simplicity, and capability
  • Develop user stories, manage the product backlog and prioritize them based on changing requirements
  • Ensure all aspects are completed in the Product Lifecycle: Feasibility, Design, Development, Testing, Technical Support, and all Product Launch Operations
  • Possess ability to stick to timelines and measure progress during development
  • Serve as an ardent evangelist of the product to internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required in Information Systems or Computer Engineering or related field strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of applicable experience in business systems analysis or product management
  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodology is required. Scrum Master, 1 year (Preferred)
  • Proficiency in Process Engineering methodologies and Change Management practices
  • Extensive experience managing and growing enterprise products
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written, and presentation) that shine when you’re talking with a customer or engaging with cross-functional teams
  • Desire for creating value for the customer through innovation and simplicity
  • Strong organizational skills and can multitask across teams, projects, and priorities
  • Being passionate about what you do and a get-things-done attitude to make your product and team successful
