The Business Analyst provides leadership for the Bursar and Treasury Services Division using data analytic skills to support business decisions and deployment of enterprise-level solutions to the University’s information systems. The analyst uses queries along with other analytic reporting tools to provide useful reporting metrics that will help management identify processes in need of improvement, make recommendations, and respond to outside questions. This role performs duties including gathering, documenting, and analyzing business processes and coordinating with functional, cross-functional, and technical teams to develop, test, and implement projects, APIs and data feeds related to Banner, PeopleSoft, and other Third-Party Systems such as TouchNet. The Business Analyst assists with assessing and testing upcoming system upgrade releases and patches. The Business Analyst creates project plans, coordinates and leads project meetings, ensures project documentation is up to date, and manages tasks related to projects. Additionally, the Business Analyst prepares specifications for developers, coordinates testing with functional stakeholders on campus, functionally approves migrations and upgrades in non-production and production instances, and assists with determining the training materials needed for upgrades and projects. The Business Analyst supports the development of operational reports related to existing processes and projects. In addition, the Business Analyst supports the division with special projects or processing tasks as needed.
