Job summary

QODE is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to bridge business needs and technology solutions in a hybrid San Francisco environment. You will gather requirements, translate them into detailed specifications, and collaborate with product, development, QA, and design teams to deliver clear, actionable outcomes.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in a tech-driven BA role, strong communication, and proficiency with Jira/Confluence, Visio, and SQL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, IT, CS, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years as a Business Analyst in a technology-driven environment.
• Experience in elicitation, analysis, and documentation using UML/BPMN.
• Strong SDLC knowledge: Agile and Waterfall.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Visio; SQL familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders via interviews, workshops, and surveys.
• Translate needs into functional and non-functional specs, user stories, and process flows.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, QA engineers, and designers, to ensure a shared understanding of requirements.
• Facilitate requirement validation sessions and obtain sign-off from stakeholders.
• Analyze existing business processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose solutions for improvement.
• Support the development and testing phases by clarifying requirements and addressing any ambiguities.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including business requirements documents (BRDs), use cases, and training materials.
• Conduct gap analysis between current and future state processes and systems.
• Assist in the planning and execution of user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of business analysis methodologies and best practices within the organization.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a technology-driven environment.
• Proven experience in requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation using various techniques (e.g., UML, BPMN).
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in using business analysis tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, or similar.
• Experience with data analysis and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with database concepts and SQL is a plus.
