Job summary

Qode is seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst to bridge business needs with technology solutions in a hybrid San Francisco environment. You will gather requirements, translate them into actionable specs, and collaborate with product, development, QA, and design teams to deliver value.

You will analyze processes, propose improvements, maintain BRDs, use cases, and training materials, and guide UAT. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Experience eliciting, analyzing, and documenting requirements (UML/BPMN).
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC methodologies: Agile & Waterfall.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Visio or similar tools.
  • Experience with data analysis and interpreting complex data sets.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • SQL knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders via interviews, workshops, and surveys.
  • Translate business needs into functional/non-functional specs, user stories, and process flows.
  • Collaborate with product, developers, QA, and designers to align on requirements.
  • Facilitate requirement validation sessions and obtain stakeholder sign-off.
  • Analyze existing processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose improvements.
  • Support development and testing by clarifying requirements and addressing ambiguities.
  • Develop and maintain BRDs, use cases, and training materials.
  • Conduct gap analysis between current and future state processes and systems.
  • Assist planning and execution of user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of BA methodologies and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of business analysis methodologies and best practices within the organization.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a technology-driven environment.
  • Proven experience in requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation using various techniques (e.g., UML, BPMN).
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using business analysis tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, or similar.
  • Experience with data analysis and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with database concepts and SQL is a plus.
