Job summary

Anders, a leading US accounting firm, seeks a Business Accounting Supervisor to contribute to tax and accounting services within the Tax Department. You will prepare work papers, perform tax research, draft responses, assist in tax planning and projections, and process client payroll while supporting month-end and year-end closes.

Strong communication, autonomy, and organization are essential, with QuickBooks Online and other GL software experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
• CPA is a plus.
• Experience in tax and accounting within a CPA firm is desirable.

Job description

The Tax Department of one of the fastest-growing accounting firms in the country is seeking a Business Accounting Supervisor who is motivated to learn, excited to collaborate and passionate about delivering outstanding results. This individual will have a direct impact on our firm’s mission of serving as a catalyst for those striving to achieve their highest potential.

In this role, you will prepare work papers, perform tax research, analyze tax notices and draft responses, assist in tax planning and the preparation of projections, and process client payroll. You will participate in month-end and year-end closing processes. This role requires the ability to build relationships in aspects such as people development and client relations.

What You’ll Do:

• Prepare and assist clients with monthly bank reconciliations
• Prepare and assist clients with journal entries and general ledger maintenance
• Prepare clients year end trial balances
• Preparation of compiled financial statements and budgeting reports
• Maintain fixed asset schedules
• Maintain the chart of accounts
• Prepare/review client sales tax returns
• Prepare/review client annual 1099 informational returns
• Process live client payroll accurately and timely
• Prepare/review personal property declarations
• Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
• Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
• Provide tax compliance and consulting services to individuals, partnerships, corporations, and non-profits in a variety of industries
• Demonstrate the ability to efficiently research tax topics of intermediate complexity
• Assist in training and developing Business Accounting staff
• Help develop, build, and manage client relationships

What We’re Looking For:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong client service skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management
• Ability to work autonomously
• Strong organization skills
• Detail-oriented with QuickBooks Online experience; experience with other general ledger software, such as Xero, NetSuite, Sage, or similar platforms, a plus
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word, & Outlook
• Familiarity with cloud-based software applications

Your Qualifications:

• High School diploma required
• Bachelors degree in Accounting preferred
• 6 - 8 years relevant experience
• CPA is a plus

Salary Range

$80,000 — $96,000 USD

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Anders reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and firm business practices.
