Job summary

Anders is seeking a Business Accounting Senior in the Tax Department to manage all aspects of the accounting function for selected clients, participate in month-end and year-end close, process client payroll and assist with routine accounting while evaluating systems for improvements.

You will prepare bank reconciliations, journal entries, trial balances, financial statements, payroll tax returns, 1099s, and maintain the chart of accounts and fixed assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
• 4+ years relevant experience
• CPA a plus
• Proficient with QuickBooks Online and general ledger software

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
• Prepare journal entries and general ledger maintenance
• Prepare year end trial balances
• Preparation of compiled financial statements and budgeting reports
• Maintain fixed asset schedules
• Maintain the chart of accounts
• Preparation of client sales tax returns
• Process live client payroll accurately and timely
• Preparation of client payroll tax returns, quarterly and year end
• Preparation of client annual 1099 informational returns
• Preparation of personal property declarations
• Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
• Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
• Provide tax compliance and consulting services to individuals, partnerships and corporations in a variety of industries
• Demonstrate the ability to efficiently research tax topics of intermediate complexity
• Assist in managing and developing professional tax staff
• Help develop, build and manage client relationships
• Travel onsite to local clients as needed

The Tax Department of one of the fastest-growing accounting firms in the country is seeking a Business Accounting Senior who is motivated to learn, excited to collaborate and passionate about delivering outstanding results. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for the management and oversight of all aspects of the accounting function for selected clients. You will participate in month-end and year-end closing processes, process client payroll, and assist clients with routine accounting functions while assessing their current systems/processes to determine streamlining and automation opportunities.

What You’ll Do:

• Prepare and assist clients with monthly bank reconciliations
• Prepare and assist clients with journal entries and general ledger maintenance
• Prepare clients year end trial balances

What We’re Looking For:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong client service skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management
• Ability to work autonomously
• Strong organization skills
• Detail-oriented with QuickBooks Online experience; experience with other general ledger software, such as Xero, NetSuite, Sage, or similar platforms, a plus
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word, & Outlook
• Familiarity with cloud-based software applications

Your Qualifications:

• High School diploma required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
• 4+ years relevant experience
• CPA a plus

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Anders reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and firm business practices.

Salary Range

$77,000 — $88,000 USD
