Job Title & Location
Bushing Technician – Full Time, IKO Glass Fiber Inc., Chester, SC.

Responsibilities
- Exceptional attendance including working every day, on time, as scheduled.
- Strong desire to work safely and help others also work safely. Take primary responsibility for own safety. Follow all policies and procedures. Understand that safety is a condition of employment.
- Identify poor performing bushings and positions. Troubleshoot and implement corrective action.
- Control bushing melt rates using statistical process control techniques. Ensure bushing temperature profiles are maintained for optimal efficiency. Start‑up bushings as required.
- Monitor, adjust, and repair bushing, forming process, and chopper operations including cooling air, cooling fins, leads, flex connections, prepad sprays, applicator speeds, chopper variables, etc.
- Ensure efficient forming performance and chopper operation. Troubleshoot and implement corrective actions. Perform routine chopper cutterhead and cot changes as well as other chopper adjustments and maintenance.
- Monitor and control product cut quality. Take appropriate corrective action when needed.
- Assist fiber formers to ensure optimum bushing and process performance. Respond to and service fiber formers’ requests.
- Maintain forming process alignment to written specifications.
- Complete all required logs and audit sheets.
- All duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Prior glass operations experience beneficial but not required.
- Three or more years of manufacturing experience.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Ability to provide simple and accurate instructions.
- Ability to work at times in a high temperature environment.
- Frequent lifting or moving materials up to 10 lbs.
- Required to work 12 hour rotating shift schedule including working days and nights and rotating frequently.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Regular requirements to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, reach, and grasp.
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work from heights.
- Ability to perform work by reaching overhead for long periods of time.
