Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. is seeking a Production team member to support glass fiber manufacturing at our Chester, SC facility.

You will contribute to a safe, efficient forming process, handle chopper operations, and monitor process variables to maintain product quality. The ideal candidate has manufacturing experience, strong communication skills, and a commitment to safety while working in a high-temperature environment and rotating day/night shifts.

Your responsibilities will be to:
  • Exceptional attendance including working every day, on time, as scheduled.
  • Strong desire to work safely and help others also work safely.

  • Follows all policies and procedures.
  • Understands safety is a condition of employment.
  • Efficiently and quickly pulls glass from bushing break outs and places into choppers.
  • Ensures efficient forming process and chopper operation.
  • Troubleshoots and implements corrective action as needed.
  • Identifies poor performing bushings and positions.
  • Troubleshoots and implements corrective action.
  • Monitors critical process variables and product quality including but not limited to, bushing temperatures, air flows, pre-pad spray pressure and volume, applicator speed, chopper speed, and cut quality.
  • Obtains bushing melt rate samples and other quality checks as needed.
  • Inspects fiber production and product quality during pack-out process.
  • Monitors and cleans forming positions as needed.
  • Maintains binder applicator assembly.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.
Our ideal candidate:
  • Three or more years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to provide simple and accurate instructions.
  • Ability to work at times in a high temperature environment.
  • Frequent lifting or moving materials up to 10 lbs.
  • Required to work 12 hour rotating shift schedule including working days and nights and rotating frequently.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, reach, and grasp.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work from heights.
  • Ability to work overhead for long periods of time.
