Job summary

WMATA’s Office of Bus Transportation Training seeks skilled Training and Safety Instructors to teach and develop the next generation of Metrobus Operators, delivering high-quality instruction, reinforcing safety standards, and supporting learner growth in both classroom and on-street settings.

You will collaborate with a professional team, use modern training tools, and evaluate performance, while guiding new routes, fare structures, and equipment operations to ensure safe, reliable service

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible bus operations experience.
• Experience in developing and presenting bus operator training or as an instructor.
• Valid driver's license and CDL with passenger endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Delivers classroom and in-vehicle operator training and evaluates performance.
• Develops training courses, lesson plans, and conducts safety and compliance training.
• Instructs on new routes, fare structures, and equipment operations.
