Job summary

ABM is seeking a Fleet Vehicle Technician in Atlanta to maintain and repair buses and fleet trucks. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, and ensure compliance with DOT and safety standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of fleet maintenance experience, and willingness to obtain CDL/passenger endorsement. ABM offers a comprehensive benefits package and a stable, safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; vocational/technical training preferred.
• Two (2) years' experience maintaining passenger buses, trucks, or similar fleet vehicles.
• ASE Certifications preferred but not required.
• CDL with passenger endorsement (preferred or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled inspections and services on buses and fleet vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Service and repair engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, and braking systems.
• Perform road tests following major repairs to confirm safety and performance.
• Conduct DOT-required inspections and maintain proper documentation.
• Ensure all vehicles meet federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Keep maintenance logs and inspection reports current for audits and reviews.
• Respond to roadside assistance calls and perform emergency repairs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop area.
• Manage parts requests and assist with inventory control.
• Collaborate with drivers and supervisors to address reported vehicle concerns.
