Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a dependable Fleet Maintenance Technician to service buses and fleet vehicles in a shop-based environment in Atlanta, GA. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and timely repairs to keep vehicles road-ready.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of related fleet experience, and knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, electrical systems, and hydraulics. CDL with passenger endorsement is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; vocational/technical training preferred.
• Two (2) years' experience maintaining passenger buses, trucks, or similar fleet vehicles.
• ASE Certifications preferred but not required.
• CDL with passenger endorsement (preferred or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled inspections and services on buses and fleet vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Service and repair engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, and braking systems.
• Perform road tests following major repairs to confirm safety and performance.
• DOT-required inspections and maintain proper documentation.
• Respond to roadside assistance calls and perform emergency repairs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop area.
• Collaborate with drivers and supervisors to address reported vehicle concerns.
