Omnitrans in the San Bernardino Valley seeks a Vehicle Service Worker to service automobiles and motor coaches, sanitize vehicles and manage fare vaults. Training is provided and candidates must obtain a Class B permit with air brake endorsement within 90 days of hire.

Pay range: $23.18 - $28.44 per hour (requires a Class B permit with airbrake and passenger endorsements upon hire. Class B License must be obtained within 90 days of date of hire - training provided).
Shift differentials: Swing Shift ($0.55 per hour) Graveyard Shift ($0.65 per hour)
* Must be able to work both shifts (Swing 5:00 pm - 1:30 am/Graveyard 8:30 pm - 5:00 am) and both divisions (San Bernardino/Montclair)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE One year experience in vehicle service, cleaning, and/or maintenance is desirable. High school diploma or equivalent.Vehicle Service Worker must provide at least a State of California Commercial Vehicle Instruction Permit Class B with passenger and air brakes endorsement or possess a State of California Commercial driver's license with a B-P endorsement with airbrakes prior to first day of work and must obtain and maintain a valid Class B California Motor Vehicle Operator's License with passenger endorsements after driver training. Must be available to work any specified Maintenance Department Shift which may include days, nights, graveyard, weekends, and holidays.Positions in this job classification are considered safety-sensitive and subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing, under Federal Transit Administration (FTA) regulations. Must comply with all California Occupational Safety and Health Act (Cal-OSHA) regulations and utilize approved safety equipment and protective gear including but not limited to respirators and/or hearing protective devices (HPD), if and when required. Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus .
Candidates will be screened for relevant qualifying experience that consists of an evaluation of education and experience. (A Class B license is not required to submit an employment application but a Class B permit or Class A or B License with passenger and air brake endorsement is required prior to the first day of employment). The most competitively qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the selection process. The selection process may include a combination of written, performance, and oral examinations. The process will also include an extensive background/criminal investigation (including LiveScan), pre-assessment evaluation, and DOT pre-employment physical examination with drug screening.
