Job summary

Jonathan Club in Santa Monica is seeking a Busser to support Beach Club dining and provide courteous service to members. You will assist servers, stock and reset stations, and help maintain a clean and inviting dining area.

The position requires steady walking/standing, good communication, and flexibility for nights, weekends, or holidays. Pay is $18.47 per hour with equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• Constant walking and standing.
• Communication skills are utilized when interacting with members, wait staff, cooks, and supervisors.
• Reading and writing abilities are utilized often to answer member questions regarding the menu.
• Basic math, reading, and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and close side work tasks (coffee, napkins, condiments, etc.).
• Stock service station/pantry with supplies and transport linens as needed.
• Deliver items to member tables and assist servers.
• Clear, clean, and reset tables according to standards.
• Clean tables, chairs, walls, windows, mirrors and floors.
• Separate dirty china, glassware and silverware and send to kitchen for cleaning.
• Perform other duties including room service as assigned.

Description

The Busser position is responsible for the following:

• Perform set-up and closing side work assignments such as make coffee, fold napkins, etc. Stock service station or pantry with napkins, placemats, condiments, etc. May be required to transport linens to and from laundry.
• May routinely fill water glasses, serve non-alcoholic beverages, and assist servers by delivering items to member tables.
• Clear, clean, and set tables according to established service standards.
• Clean and/or wipe down tables, chairs, walls, windows, mirrors and floors of the restaurant.
• Separate dirty China, glassware, and silver and deliver to the kitchen for cleaning.
• Perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to room service duties.

• Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
• Reading and writing abilities are utilized often to answer member’s questions regarding the menu.

• May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Pay Rate: $18.47/hour
