Job summary

Metro Transit is hiring Transit Operators to safely transport passengers across Madison and surrounding areas. New hires undergo a paid 11-12 week training program with CDL development, with opportunities for both full-time and part-time roles.

Qualifications

• Commercial Learner's Permit required before hire.
• CDL road test required after training.
• Must have a valid Wisconsin CLP with B passenger endorsement and no 'L' restriction.
• Must be able to pass CDL-related physical exam.

Responsibilities

• Operate a transit bus safely and courteously on Madison routes.
• Assist passengers boarding/alighting and assist with wheelchairs or mobility devices.
• Follow routes, schedules, and operating policies and procedures.
• Prepare reports and maintain records as requested.
• Provide clear information and assist passengers in need.
