Job summary

Metro Transit, a division of the Metropolitan Council, seeks full-time Bus Operators to serve the Twin Cities. You will greet passengers, operate buses on scheduled routes, perform pre-trip inspections, and ensure safety and timely transport for riders.

The role includes shifting schedules, weekend/holiday work, overtime differential, and a starting wage of $29.70 per hour plus union-led increases. CDL with Passenger endorsement preferred; training available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months of verifiable work experience within the past seven years.
• Ability to understand, write and speak English to communicate with customers and train materials.

Responsibilities

• Greet passengers and answer questions about fares and general inquiries.
• Perform pre-trip bus inspections inside and outside the bus.
• Safely operate the bus according to routes and schedules.
• Ensure safe boarding and timely transportation of riders.
• Complete forms and paperwork such as operating and incident reports.
• Call out street names while driving per ADA requirements.
