Qualifications

• No experience required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Licensed driver for at least four years.
• CDL or Learner’s Permit with Passenger Bus and Airbrakes endorsements before starting Bus Training.
• Clean driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last 3 years.
• CDL must be obtained by the end of the Bus training program.

Responsibilities

• Complete Bus Operator and CDL training including classroom and on-route instruction.
• Learn to perform pre- and post-operation inspections and report safety issues.
• Operate a passenger bus along designated routes and provide excellent customer service.
• Monitor vehicle readiness and safety compliance during shifts.
• Complete and submit accident/incident reports per guidelines.
• Maintain safety culture and follow WMATA policies.
