Job summary

Pearland ISD is seeking a Bus Aide to ride buses and assist the driver in providing safe, orderly transportation for students with disabilities. No prior experience required beyond a High School Diploma or GED.

The role involves following verbal instructions, operating safety and adaptive equipment, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Physical demands include climbing in/out of the bus emergency door, walking, bending, and working outdoors and indoors around moving machinery.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Ride buses and assist driver to provide safe and orderly transportation of student with disabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to work well with children with disabilities

Maintain emotional control; ability to communicate effectively; ability to maintain effective control over groups of students
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Must be physically able to climb in and out of the school bus emergency door to perform evacuation procedures; frequent walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling; moderate lifting and carrying; work outside and inside; work around machinery with moving parts and vehicles; moderate exposure to extreme temperatures (hot) and vehicle fumes. Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
