Job summary

Cheney Public School District 360 Transportation is seeking a School Bus Mechanic II to diagnose, repair and maintain buses and related equipment. The role supports a busy shop, working 8 hours per day from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with 260 days per year.

Required are a valid WA driver’s license with five years of driving experience, CDL with B/P1/S endorsements, and current first aid/CPR. The job offers comprehensive benefits and a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

• Requires valid Washington State Driver’s License with five years of driving experience.
• CDL with B/P1/S endorsements required.
• Current first aid/CPR card; district may provide training.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and engine defects in buses and equipment.
• Overhaul and rebuild engines, transmissions, and brake systems.
• Repair electrical components using testing devices and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
• Drive service truck for parts pickup and tow disabled vehicles as needed.
• Maintain shop and tools in good repair.
