Job summary

Cheney Public Schools Transportation is seeking a dedicated School Bus Mechanic II to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and engine systems on district buses and related equipment. You will work with the bus shop foreman to maintain a wide range of vehicles, perform preventive maintenance and ensure safety during 260-day school-year operations.

Qualifications

• Valid Washington State Driver’s License with five years experience as a licensed driver.
• CDL with B/P1/S endorsements; current first aid/CPR
• High school diploma or equivalent; WSP/FBI background clearance

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and engine defects in school buses and other equipment.
• Overhaul and rebuild engines, transmissions, brakes and other major components.
• Perform preventive maintenance and school bus safety inspections.
• Drive service truck for parts pickup or towing as needed.
• Maintain shop and equipment and assist with on-call snow removal.
