Job summary

DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) in Dallas, TX seeks skilled vehicle maintenance technicians to perform repairs, inspections and preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles.

Requirements include an Associate degree or auto program certificate, CDL Class A with Passenger Endorsement within 180 days, DOT physical and random drug testing, ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in tight spaces. Open until qualified.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or technical certification in Automotive/Diesel Technology is required or preferred.
• Must obtain a valid Texas CDL Class A with Passenger Endorsement within 180 days of hire.
• No DWI/DUI conviction within the last 60 months; limited moving violations.
• Must pass job-specific assessment to be interviewed.
• Must pass DOT medical exam and random drug/alcohol testing as condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs to power plants, HVAC, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and minor body repairs.
• Perform state safety inspections of vehicles.
• Maintain, charge and inspect batteries; perform preventative maintenance as scheduled.
• Change tires, fuels, and clean vehicles as required.
• Make road/service calls and operate DART vehicles if necessary.
• Promote safety, training and quality assurance programs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
