Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid MS Class B CDL with S endorsement required.
• Knowledge and experience to perform gas and diesel engine tune-ups, complete engine overhauls, general mechanics, and related duties.
• Experience in body repair of large vehicles desired.
• Must be insurable by district insurance carrier.
• Must be physically able to lift heavy weights.
• Must communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of DT 444e, Maxxforce 7, Cummins 6.7 engines desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform major and minor motor repairs and replacement on school buses, cars, trucks, and other district equipment.
• Carry out body repairs, including minor body work, painting, and seat repairs.
• Repair or change tires as needed.
• Diagnose electrical problems and replace lights.
• Install rings, bearings and ensure proper adjustments.
• Change rotors and brake pads.
• Tune motors using standard testing equipment and install radiator hoses.

5. Knowledge and experience to perform gas and diesel engine tune-ups, complete engine overhauls, general mechanics, and other related duties

10. Knowledge and experience with the following motors: DT 444e, Maxxforce 7, Cummins 6.7
