Job summary

Randolph County School System is seeking a Mechanic for the Transportation department to perform servicing and repairs on school vehicles and equipment. The role focuses on safety, reliability, and economical operation to keep fleet in optimal condition.

Qualifications

JOB SUMMARY

The Mechanic will provide efficient, economical vehicle service and repairs ensuring the safe, efficient operating conditions of all school system vehicles and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Vocational diploma in Automotive or related field;
  2. Minimum of two (2) years of work experience as a mechanic;
  3. In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems;
  4. Must possess or attain and maintain a valid Georgia commercial driver's license with a "P" and "S" endorsement within 90 days of the hire date;
  5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  1. Ability to apply critical thinking skills and recommendations in rendering solutions to various issues;
  2. Ability to maintain equipment records;
  3. Positive job attitude and the ability to work with others;
  4. Must have excellent organizational skills;
  5. Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
