Job summary

Pelham City Schools in Pelham, AL is seeking reliable bus drivers to transport students on scheduled days. You will carry out duties assigned by a supervisor and work according to the district salary schedule.

A valid Alabama CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements is required, along with passing a background screening and maintaining good interpersonal relations. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and the physical ability to perform the job.

Qualifications

• Must pass background screening
• Must have the physical strength, agility, dexterity, acuity and mobility to perform job responsibilities.
• Must have the ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships
• High school graduate or equivalent (GED) and academic competency in basic skills (may be waived by the superintendent)
• Valid Alabama (Class B or above) Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a passenger and school bus endorsement
• Alternatives to the qualifications may be found appropriate by Pelham Board of Education

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1. Meet suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457. (Must pass background screening)
• 2. Must have the physical strength, agility, dexterity, acuity and mobility to perform job responsibilities.
• 3. Must have the ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships
• 4. High school graduate or equivalent (GED) and academic competency in basic skills (*may be waived by the superintendent)
• 5. Valid Alabama (Class B or above) Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a passenger and school bus endorsement.
• 6. Such alternatives to the qualifications listed above or below as the Pelham Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable
