Job summary

Douglas County School District is seeking a Trainer / Instructor - Transportation for the East Transportation location. The role focuses on classroom and hands-on training addressing school bus regulations and safety procedures, and involves evaluating bus drivers and TEA personnel while maintaining audit-ready documentation.

Must complete ELDT Instructor certification, First Aid instructor certification, and Crisis Prevention instructor certification within 5 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current Colorado CDL Class A or B with P&S endorsements is required or strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend safety meetings and training on state, federal, and district requirements.
• Schedule training and testing.
• Maintain documents and records for audits and procedures.
• Evaluate driver and TEA performance for basic skills and compliance.
• Oversee licensing, training, and certificates for drivers.
• Perform classroom and behind-the-wheel bus driver training.
• Prepare written materials (reports, handouts, safety guidelines).
• Maintain knowledge of FMCSR CDL rules and regulations.
