Job summary

Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) is seeking a CDL driver to transport military personnel on Fort Sill. You will perform routine safety inspections, keep accurate logs, and coordinate with dispatch to ensure timely routes.

The role requires compliance with DoT rules, security requirements, and continuous safety awareness. The position offers a full-time schedule, on-site work, and competitive benefits as part of Akima’s federal facilities services.

Qualifications

• Report maintenance issues promptly and assist with general support tasks as assigned.

Job description

Safely and compliantly drives 44 seat passenger bus to transport military passengers over specified routes to local points on Fort Sill Army installation, according to time schedule. Regulates heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort. Complies with local traffic regulations, and reports delays or accidents to transportation motor pool (TMP).

Responsibilities

• Perform daily vehicle inspections, maintain required documentation, and follow all DOT, OSHA, and installation safety rules.
• Load and unload personnel safely using proper equipment and techniques.
• Coordinate with supervisors and dispatchers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
• Report maintenance issues promptly and assist with general support tasks as assigned.
• Comply with installation access and security requirements.
• Maintain accurate records, and logs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must have current and valid CDL A or CDL B license.
• Clean driving record for past seven (7) years.
• Ability to pass a DoT physical.
• Valid and current medical card or insurance equivalent.
• Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
• Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 investigation result, obtain and maintain a CAC.
• Applicant must possess a REAL ID-compliant, state-issued driver’s license.

Desired Qualifications

• Completed prerequisite training for Army Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 88M – Motor Transport Operator desired.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, reaching, and operating in tiring positions.
• Periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions.
• Personal protective equipment (e.g., eye protection, gloves) may be required.

Pay & Benefits

• SCA $23/hour and $5.09/hourHealth and Welfare Benefits package.
• Hours per Week- Full Time, 40 hours a week.
• Shifts: Variable.
