Qualifications

• Must hold a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to meet licensing, vehicle operation, and insurance requirements.
• Experience operating passenger or accessible transportation vehicles preferred.
• Experience working with older adults or mobility-impaired individuals preferred.
• Strong communication, patience, and compassionate care approach.
• Ability to assist elders with mobility and transportation needs.
• Dependable and flexible for as-needed scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport elders to medical appointments, outings, and activities.
• Assist elders getting in and out of the vehicle, including mobility devices.
• Secure wheelchairs and mobility equipment according to safety procedures.
• Conduct routine vehicle safety checks and report maintenance needs.
• Maintain a clean, safe transportation environment.
• Follow traffic laws and resident safety protocols.
• Communicate professionally with elders, families, and team members.
• Maintain transportation records as required.

Position Overview

The PRN Bus Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and courteous transportation for our elders to medical appointments, community outings, and other scheduled activities. This position works on an as-needed basis to support the transportation needs of our community.

What You'll Do

• Safely transport elders to and from medical appointments, outings, and scheduled activities.
• Assist elders with safely entering and exiting the vehicle, including those using wheelchairs or mobility devices.
• Properly secure wheelchairs and mobility equipment according to established safety procedures.
• Conduct routine vehicle safety inspections and promptly report maintenance concerns.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming transportation environment.
• Follow traffic laws, transportation procedures, and resident safety protocols.
• Communicate professionally with elders, families, and team members.
• Maintain accurate transportation records and documentation as required.
