LeeTran, part of Lee County Government, is hiring a year-round temporary bus driver to operate buses along scheduled routes, greet riders, collect fares, and ensure safe, comfortable service. The role requires a valid CDL, good driving record, and the ability to pass the Florida DOT medical exam.
Shifts include day and evening hours; evening shifts pay extra with differential. On-the-job training is provided to prepare for ADA accessibility duties and route navigation using GPS.
Join our team as a year round Temporary Bus Driver and help people get where they need to go safely and on time. In this role, you will drive a bus along a set route, greet passengers, and make sure everyone has a safe and comfortable ride.
Help passengers with questions and collect fares.
Make sure the bus is comfortable (heat, air, lighting).
Follow ADA rules and help passengers with disabilities, including securing wheelchairs.
Check your bus and equipment for safety and general maintenance needs.
Complete daily reports and paperwork .
Use bus technology like tablets and GPS.
Perform other duties as assigned.
