Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must pass a DOT Physical exam.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Either hold a NC CDL Permit with passenger/air brake endorsements or a full CDL A/B with the same endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Transports Passengers safely and courteously on prescribed routes.
• Comply with all laws about operation of buses, traffic and safety.
• Ensure the highest quality of service is delivered to customers.
• Assist customers, including those with disabilities, with safety restraints and accessibility.
• Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures to reduce accidents.
• Operate all equipment safely, including lift, radio, and emergency gear.
• Perform pre-trip inspections and ensure buses are in safe working condition.
• Coordinate detour and incident information with radio dispatch.
• Make independent decisions and manage conflicts based on safety and training.
• Report accidents or unusual incidents and follow up accordingly.

Responsibilities Include

• Transports Passengers safely and courteously according to specified routes. To ensure optimization of all routes, the Bus Operator may make only designated stops in the order prescribed, unless otherwise communicated by the Dispatch Office.
• Comply with all federal, state, and local laws about the operation of buses, traffic, and safety.
• Ensures the highest quality of service is delivered to our customers.
• Assists customers in a safe, friendly, courteous, and helpful manner. This includes helping customers with disabilities, on and off the wheelchair lift. As requested by the customer, the Bus Operator will assist with safety restraints.
• Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents.
• Comply with all company safety rules and operates assigned vehicles to meet customer standards.
• Must be able to operate all equipment safely, efficiently, and adequately, including lift, radio, emergency equipment, hatches, and rear engine compartment door.
• Performs pre-trip inspection and completes bus and equipment are in safe, proper working condition.
• Coordinates detour, accident, and incident information to radio dispatch, and responds to given.
• Makes effective independent decisions and manages conflicts based on safety, experience, training, and policies.
• Reports and properly follows up on all accidents or unusual incidents in, on, or near RATP Dev/GoDurham vehicles

Requirements Of The Bus Operator

• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Requires the candidate to pass a DOT Physical exam

• Either have a valid North Carolina CDL Permit with passenger and air brake endorsements or a full CDL A or B with the same endorsements.

Shift Availability

• Full-time
• Part-time (minimum 32 hours per week)
