The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division, Cicero, IL, is hiring a Production Assistant/Driver at the Adult Rehabilitation Center to transport materials to and from designated destinations. You will represent the organization professionally, handle pickups and deliveries, and perform pre/post-trip inspections while maintaining donor service standards.

A CDL with Passenger Endorsement is required; this is a full-time 40-hour-per-week role with DOT/OSHA compliance and safety PPE

Qualifications

• Must have a CDL with Passenger Endorsement License.
• Compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations.
• Ability to load and unload goods and operate in a safety-conscious manner.

Responsabilités

• Follow scheduled routes and drive Salvation Army trucks for pickups and deliveries.
• Ensure security and safe handling of all goods and materials.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles and maintain equipment.
• Report safety or security concerns immediately.
• Wear PPE including gloves, masks, and back support as required.

Job Overview

Join our team in "Doing the Most Good" as a Production Assistant/Driver at our Adult Rehabilitation Center. We're seeking a professional and courteous driver to transport materials to and from specified destinations. This role is essential in representing The Salvation Army while providing exceptional service to our donors and maintaining efficient operations.

$22.00 - $24.00

Key Responsibilities

Transportation & Logistics

• Follow scheduled routing procedures efficiently
• Drive Salvation Army truck for pickups and deliveries
• Ensure security and safe handling of all goods and materials
• Perform daily pre and post-trip inspections of vehicles
• Maintain equipment in excellent working order
• Comply with all DOT and OSHA regulations

Customer Service

• Act as a personal representative of The Salvation Army
• Ensure all donors are treated courteously and respectfully
• Communicate donation acceptance policy with donors
• Report any pickup problems to dispatcher
• Maintain professional appearance per ARC dress code

Operations Support

• Use DSS program and assigned iPad apps effectively
• Support beneficiaries in work therapy goals through training and mentoring
• Handle loading and unloading of trucks as needed
• Wear all assigned PPE including gloves, masks, and back guard
• Report any safety or security concerns immediately
