Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory in Cicero, IL is hiring a Production Assistant/Driver for our Adult Rehabilitation Center. You will transport materials to and from destinations, assist with loading and unloading, and serve as a courteous, professional ambassador for our donors while maintaining efficient operations.

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position requiring a CDL with Passenger Endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Drive Salvation Army truck for pickups and deliveries.
• Follow scheduled routing procedures efficiently.
• Ensure security and safe handling of all goods and materials.
• Perform daily pre and post-trip inspections of vehicles.
• Maintain equipment in excellent working order.
• Comply with all DOT and OSHA regulations.
• Act as a personal representative of The Salvation Army.
• Communicate donation acceptance policy with donors.
• Report any pickup problems to dispatcher.
• Wear all assigned PPE including gloves, masks, and back guard.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation & Logistics

• Follow scheduled routing procedures efficiently
• Drive Salvation Army truck for pickups and deliveries
• Ensure security and safe handling of all goods and materials
• Perform daily pre and post-trip inspections of vehicles
• Maintain equipment in excellent working order
• Comply with all DOT and OSHA regulations

Customer Service

• Act as a personal representative of The Salvation Army
• Ensure all donors are treated courteously and respectfully
• Communicate donation acceptance policy with donors
• Report any pickup problems to dispatcher
• Maintain professional appearance per ARC dress code

Operations Support

• Use DSS program and assigned iPad apps effectively
• Support beneficiaries in work therapy goals through training and mentoring
• Handle loading and unloading of trucks as needed
• Wear all assigned PPE including gloves, masks, and back guard
• Report any safety or security concerns immediately
