Job summary

Children's Home is seeking a part-time Bus Driver for the School Age Child Care program to safely transport youth in the Southern Tier area. A valid CDL and DOT physical are required, with at least two years of school bus or commercial vehicle driving experience.

Responsibilities include adhering to schedules, maintaining a clean, safe bus, and ensuring passenger safety while following OCFS policies. Benefits and professional development opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and DOT physical required to maintain insurability.

• Always maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus
• Being attentive to traffic and weather conditions and ensuring passenger safety
• Following the planned route and schedule for departure times and stops
• Regularly checking vehicle safety such as tires, brakes, turn signals and mechanical equipment
• Follow the Office of Children and Families (OCFS) Transportation Policy of Children for School Aged Child Care

Requirements

Education:

• High School Diploma / GED required

Experience:

• 2 years of experience driving a school bus or commercial vehicle required
• Ability to relate and interact with youth and families in a positive manner required
• Commercial Driver's License and ability to maintain insurability throughout employment required
• Pass DOT Physical required
