POSITION SUMMARY

This position transports students by school bus in a safe and professional manner. JOB SCOPE This position functions under the direction of the transportation supervisor and operates within established systems and rules. The work is somewhat recurring and routine although the position may encounter variations from the norm due to changing road conditions and routes. This position has little to no planning responsibility beyond the need to schedule own work and determine impediments to own work schedule.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE (Minimum Qualifications)

All bus drivers or others employed or employed in that capacity must:

  • Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described within this job description
  • Be at least 18 years of age;
  • Hold a valid Oregon Commercial Drivers License (CDL) - or have ability to obtain;

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working as a school bus driver in a k-12 environment.
  • Experience working in a CDL driver position in a non-school industry.
  • Holds a valid Oregon commercial driver’s license (CDL) with passenger , air brake and “S” endorsement, school bus driver certificates/licenses and the ability to obtain a valid First Aid/CPR card.
  • Bilingual Spanish

COMPENSATION

  • Wage Schedule:$26.23-$33.04/hr
  • Work days:180 (10 month)
  • *Personal days, Sick days
  • Medical, dental and vision insurance
  • Life insurance, AD&D, Long term disability included (Optional insurances available)
  • JCSD 509-J pays the employee's share (6%) of the Public Employees Retirement System Contribution

*Employment contingent upon a successful outcome of Fingerprinting, Background check and Drug testing. (The $87.50 fee associated with criminal history record checks & fingerprinting, shall be the responsibility of the individual at the time of hire.)
