Job summary

Magnolia Ridge Child Development Center is seeking a part-time Bus Driver to transport children after school, following state health and safety rules. A valid license and background checks are required, with preference for candidates who have prior childcare experience.

The role involves coordination with families and center staff, maintaining the bus, and covering shifts as needed to ensure smooth operations. We value teamwork, safety, and a friendly, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver license required.
• Pass background checks required.
• Must be 25+ years old.

Responsibilities

• Transport children daily while following state regulations and health regulations pertaining to duties.
• Submit required paperwork to Director in a timely manner.
• Communicate with parents effectively both written and verbally.
• Support coordinating field trips and communicate logistics, procedures and expectations to administration, teachers, and parents.
• Mentor and train substitute Bus drivers to cover absences.
• Maintain the vehicle according to state regulations.
• Maintain a clean, orderly and safe bus.
• Willingness to substitute for any position as needed, including covering staff breaks and classroom duties.
• Demonstrate patience, kindness and positive interactions with children, parents, and staff.
• Operate as a team player under the lead teacher's direction.
• Physical ability to work around small children; sit, stand, walk, run, climb stairs.
• Lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements.

Magnolia Ridge is a licensed childcare center seeking a Bus Driver!

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a high school diploma OR GED, a valid driver license and the ability to pass all background checks. Must be 25+ years of age. A plus if you have previous childcare experience!

Required Shift

Monday - Friday, 1:30pm - 3:30pm

Compensation

$15-16hr based on education and experience

Main Job Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, orderly and safe bus.
• Willingness to effectively substitute for any position as needed. This includes covering staff members’ breaks, filling in for staff members in their absences, and assuming the classroom duties of staff members before or after their scheduled shifts.
• Demonstrate patience, kindness and positive interactions with all children, parents, and staff.
• Operate as a team player and willingness to help where needed under the director of the lead teacher.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
