Job summary

Paycom is seeking a responsible school bus driver to transport children to Head Start centers, ensuring safety protocols, seat belt use, and proper seating. The role requires collaboration with center staff and families to design efficient routes and safe deliveries.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of preschool safety practices, and strong written and verbal communication skills, plus basic math and schedule management abilities.

Qualifications

• Ability to maintain schedules while meeting individual needs of children and families.

Responsibilities

• Transport children to and from Head Start centers efficiently and safely.
• Ensure seat belts are worn or children are in appropriate seats and belted in.
• Prevent behavioral issues from compromising safety on the bus.
• Perform daily sign on & sign off sheets, accounting by name all children getting on and off the bus.
• Deliver each child to a responsible adult on the authorized list.
• Ensure no child is left unattended while on the bus, following all procedures.
• Visually observe health of each child and report concerns to Center Administrator.
• Coordinate paperwork flow between homes and Head Start sites.
• Collaborate with site staff, families and transportation manager to design bus routes and deliveries.
• Walk-through the bus after each route to ensure no child or belonging is left behind.

Job description

Transport children to and from Head Start centers efficiently and safely.Ensure that all passengers wear seat belts or are placed in appropriate (age or weight) seats and belted in.Ensure that any behavioral issues do not compromise the safety of any child on the bus.Perform daily sign on & sign off sheets, accounting by name all children getting on and off the bus.Ensure that each child is delivered to the care of a responsible adult upon leaving bus (on the authorized list).Ensure that no child is ever left unattended while on the bus, following all procedures put in place to prevent a child being left behind.Visually observe the health of each child on the bus, report any concerns to Center Administrator or designee.Coordinate the paperwork flow between homes and Head Start sites.Continuous collaboration with site staff, families and transportation manager to design efficient bus routes, and mail/message deliveries.Perform a complete walk-thru of the bus after each route to ensure that no child or belonging are left behind.High school diploma or GED.Working knowledge of the behaviors and developmental stages of pre-school children, typically gained by working one year or more in a school or preschool setting.Knowledge of safety practices as they relate to pre-school children.Good written and oral communications skills and basic math skills.Ability to maintain schedules while meeting individual needs of children and families.
