Job summary

First Student in Chicago Ridge is hiring a Diesel Technician to maintain and repair school buses, ensuring safety and reliability for students. The role is a full-time day shift, Monday–Friday, with hours 8:30am–5:00pm and pay tied to experience.

Company-paid ASE testing and CDL Class B training are provided, along with a strong benefits package and opportunities for advancement across locations in the U.S. and Canada.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of diesel or automotive maintenance experience.
• Vehicle diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license required.
• CDL Class B or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment; company paid training.

Responsibilities

• Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our passengers.
• Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle maintenance including brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, and transmissions.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
• Complete work orders accurately.
• Assist with mobile emergency repair services when needed.
