Job summary

Greyhound Lines, Inc. in Philadelphia is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain our fleet of diesel-powered buses.

You will keep vehicles safe and reliable, ensuring drivers and passengers reach their destinations without interruption. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of diesel experience, owns basic tools, holds a valid driver's license (CDL obtainable with company support), and can work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably on buses, trucks, or heavy-duty vehicles.
• Own your own basic shop tools - specialty and shop tools provided.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL obtainable with company support.
• Must be able to do shift work - including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs, work in confined spaces, stand for long periods, and work under vehicles.
• ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on diesel engines and coach-related components of over-the-road buses
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
• Repair or replace defective parts, including engines, transmissions, and brakes
• Maintain accurate records of all service work performed
• Follow all safety procedures and company protocols
• Communicate clearly with drivers, dispatch, and the maintenance manager regarding vehicle status and repair timelines
• Stay up to date on the latest diesel engine technologies and repair techniques
