Job summary

GRTC Transit System is seeking a Body Shop Mechanic in Richmond, VA to maintain the fleet's body integrity and appearance, including paratransit, microtransit, and fixed-route buses.

You will perform panel repair, glass replacement, and other body maintenance while ensuring a clean, safe work area and safe operation of agency vehicles. CDL permit with P endorsement is preferred and may be required before start.

Qualifications

• Technical or vocational training in vehicle body repair is preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year of body repair experience is preferred.
• CDL Class B Learner's permit with P endorsement required before start date.

Responsibilities

• Repair metal panels by bumping out dents and filling with body filler.
• Install and replace body panels; perform welding or riveting as needed.
• Replace body glass, mirrors, and repair floor coverings.
