Job summary

Osseo Area Schools is seeking a Part-Time Bus ESP to assist the driver in transporting students safely. You will help manage student behavior, provide structure for students with varying disabilities, and support loading/unloading procedures on the school bus.

You will work with teachers, nurses and parents, follow district safety policies, and participate in required trainings to ensure a positive and secure ride for every student.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform tasks and work with children.
• Ability to attend to physical needs of students.
• Ability to work inside and outside school bus and in the elements.
• All Bus ESPs must obtain a PCA certification within their first month of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver with student management during transport and monitor behavior on the bus.
• Provide structure and stability for students with varying disabilities.
• Engage students to mitigate outbursts and encourage positive bus rides.
• Cooperate with teachers, nurses and parents and communicate transportation issues as needed.
• Document incidents or significant behaviors using the reporting system.
