Job summary

Spring Branch Independent School District is hiring a Bus Assistant/Transportation Attendant to support bus drivers, assist students, and maintain safety on school routes. The role involves assisting students with special needs, monitoring behavior, and ensuring a safe bus environment.

The position requires high school diploma (preferred), 18+ status, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Prior experience with children or special needs is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with fellow employees and demonstrate mature judgment.
• Physically able to assist loading/unloading and assist in evacuations (50+ pounds).
• Experience with special needs students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor student behavior and maintain a safe ride on the bus.
• Provide student‑specific personal care for students with special needs.
• Escort and assist students with handling safety devices and seats.
• Maintain professional conduct and appearance as a role model.
