Job summary

JEFFERSON COUNTY SD 509J Transportation in Madras, Oregon is seeking a Bus Aide to support the driver with loading and unloading students and assist with student management on the school bus.

The position is permanent, 4 hours per day, with wages from 19.25 to 24.91 per hour. Fluency in English is required, and a Type 10/20 license is needed; Spanish bilingual applicants are preferred. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance and retirement contributions.

POSITION SUMMARY

Bus Monitors assist the driver with loading and unloading students and with student management on the school bus.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE (Minimum Qualifications)

• Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described within this job description.
• Ability to communicate fluently verbally and in writing in English.
• Ability to get a type 10/20 license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience as an instructional assistant in a k-12 environment.
• Experience as a bus aide with SPED students.
• Bilingual Spanish

COMPENSATION

• Wage Schedule: $19.25-$24.91
• Work days:180 (10 month)
• Personal days, Sick days

• JCSD 509-J pays the employee's share (6%) of the Public Employees Retirement System Contribution
