Job summary

OSU‑Oklahoma City is seeking a seasoned accounts receivable administrator to oversee billing, collections, student aid refunds, and cash management. You will ensure accurate deposits, compliance with laws, and effective control of funds across university units.

The role involves supervising staff, coordinating with collection agencies, counseling students on payment options, and generating reconciliations and reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field.
• Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles, methodologies, and practices.
• Knowledge of cashiering and cash management systems, procedures, and standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to supervise and train staff, organize, prioritize, and schedule work.
• Highly proficient technical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate AR/billing system for the University, including system maintenance.
• Manage student account collections including statements, reminders, payment plans, and past-due collections.
• Oversee third-party collections.
• Supervise disbursement of student refunds and processing of third-party scholarships/sponsors.
• Oversee custodial University change fund operations and daily reconciliations.
• Maintain security and internal controls for the department and money handling.
• Coordinate relationships with collection agencies and credit card services.
• Provide financial counseling for debt collections in compliance with laws.
• Supervise staff training on computer systems, reports, and requirements.
• Monitor compliance with Warrant Intercept Program.
• Prepare and reconcile reports and journal entries; assist with bad debt write-offs.
• Complete mandatory training and participate in professional development annually.
