Job Summary

The Burn department reports directly to the shift Foreman. Primary responsibilities include burning steel plates of various sizes and thicknesses, operating CNC and Plasma Machines, and ensuring quality standards are met. The role involves setting up machines, producing quality burn material, cleaning, and identifying materials per company policies.

Primary Responsibilities

• Comply with all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Read and understand job cards.
• Burn and cut steel according to specifications.
• Program CNC machines with appropriate steel sizes.
• Ensure documentation accuracy and completeness.
• Represent the company professionally.
• Follow no-smoking and cell phone policies.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work station.
• Meet all quality standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Ability to operate CNC and Plasma Burners safely.
• Certification and ability to operate a lift truck up to 40,000 lbs capacity.
• Certification and ability to operate an Overhead Crane.
• Proficiency with hand tools such as grinders, hammers, wrenches, and pry bars.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good teamwork skills.
• Excellent attendance and punctuality.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience.

Working Conditions

• Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
• Physical ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
• Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Work beyond 40 hours per week as needed.
• Wear proper PPE as required.
