Job summary

Stony Brook University Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (T/TRC) for the Burn Unit on the full-time night shift. You will diagnose and treat health issues using nursing methods, coordinate care, administer medications, and support patient education.

The ideal candidate holds a NY RN license with at least BSN preferred and acute care experience. Pre-employment screening and references are required as part of the onboarding process.

Qualifications

• Must possess or be eligible for a NYS RN license.
• BSN preferred; acute care experience preferred.
• Pre-employment physical, references, and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and coordinate care with the health team.
• Develop and execute individualized care plans including discharge planning.
• Administer direct care and medications as needed by patients.
• Maintain infection control and safe environment practices.
• Document teaching and patient responses in medical records and communicate changes to the team.
• Collaborate with staff and departments to support quality care in the Burn Unit.
