Kansas Health System is seeking an experienced Unit Coordinator for the Burn Unit (Night Shift) to provide clinical leadership and ensure efficient patient throughput. This role supports hiring, education, and performance evaluation while partnering with the Nurse Manager to drive patient and staff satisfaction.

The position requires BSN (with transition plans for ADN nurses) and BLS, with advanced nursing leadership experience preferred. Located in the Southwest KC market area.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate
• Bachelor Degree in Nursing
• BSN degree required for hires after Nov 1, 2025; ADN hires must enroll within 6 months and complete BSN within 3 years

Responsibilities

• Provides charge nurse responsibilities, including assignments and throughput management.
• Manages a patient care assignment based on patient needs.
• Assists with hiring, education and performance evaluation of staff.
• Collaborates with Nurse Manager and HR on performance management and discipline.
• Mentors staff and ensures compliance with standards and ongoing monitoring.
• Works to achieve productivity targets and budget compliance.
• Leads unit performance improvement activities and outcomes.
