Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Augusta is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Burn OR to deliver safe, patient-centered perioperative care in a high‑acuity setting. You will evaluate patients pre‑op, educate families about procedures, manage IV therapy and preoperative meds, and verify surgical sites per policy.

You’ll work within a collaborative team, participate in safety protocols and continuous improvement efforts, and respond to emergencies while maintaining high standards of care for our diverse

Qualifications

• RN licensed and in good standing
• BLS certification within 30 days of start date
• RN Diploma required

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including IV therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification
• Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocols
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while applying evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives
• Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team including providers, surgeons, surgical technologists and more
• Consistently apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe nursing care
• Assess patient condition, monitor throughout your shift, and document changes thoroughly
• Educate patients and families/caregivers about medical condition, treatment, and follow-up measures
